“Step for Bulgaria” Foundation launched the project “Establishing Volunteers Network in support of Underprivileged Youth”, funded by the NGO Progremme in Bulgaria under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, (www. ngogrants.bg). The project is implemented in the thematic area “Capacity Building for NGOs” priority “Developed networks and coalitions of NGOs working in partnership” with the specific objective “Development and implementation of formats for engaging citizens in the work of NGOs “. The total budjet of the project is 15 915.20 €, 14 115.20 € of which are financial aid.
The project aims at building a network of active volunteers in support of disadvantaged youth. Since its establishment “Step for Bulgaria” is actively working with volunteers to support young people who have grown up without parental care. The successful implementation of the project in 12 months will minimize turnover among volunteers and improve the quality of support rovided to young people. As a result we will have a network of volunteers and increased capacity to provide support to young people. In a broader sense, the project is aimed at promoting citizen participation in solving various social problems and promoting volunteering in general.
